Introducing Volcano Choir

Following on from a meteoric performance at the Serpentine Sessions earlier this week (click here for the Guardian’s take on events), more news from the Bon Iver camp.

Volcano Choir is an assembly of Wisconsinites including Jon Mueller, Chris Rosenau, Jim Schoenecker, Dan Spack, Thomas Wincek and Bon Iver lynchpin Justin Vernon.

You might find these old friends also frequenting records and stages under different monikers, namely Bon Iver and Collections of Colonies of Bees. The collaboration, entitled Unmap predates the rise of Justin Vernon’s Bon Iver project, with original songwriting dating back to the summer of 2005, right around the time the C.O.C.B. first toured with Vernon’s previous band DeYarmond Edison.

Available through Jagjaguar, for more information on the record, released on September 21, click through to the label’s site here.
